Clinch County covers a broad stretch of south Georgia that takes in a western portion of the Okefenokee Swamp. Homerville is the county seat, and DuPont, Argyle, and Fargo are small communities ringed by pine forest and timberland. Fargo sits beside the Suwannee River, and the swamp's western entrance at Stephen C. Foster State Park is reached through it.

Flat, sandy ground and a high water table are common in this part of the state, and low areas near the swamp or river may lie in mapped flood zones. Most rural lots require a well and septic, and soils must pass a percolation test before a septic permit is issued. We check these conditions up front, plan foundation height and drainage around them, file the permits, and oversee the crews through completion.
